Service changes in West Yorkshire - 29 April 2012
Due to Metro tender changes customers are advised that commencing Sunday 29 April 2012 the following services will be ammended:
Service 35/36 Barnsley – Shafton – Hemsworth – Pontefract
This service will no longer be operated by Arriva.
Service 46/47 Barnsley – Shafton – Hemsworth – Pontefract
Arriva will only operate one journey on Mondays to Fridays at 06.04 from South Heindley to Pontefract. All other journeys will no longer be operated by Arriva.
Service 59 Barnsley – Royston – Wakefield
This service will no longer by operated by Arriva.
Service 110 Hall green – Kettlethorpe – Wakefield – Leeds
Some Sunday evening journeys withdrawn.
Service 117 Wakefield – Ossett – Tingley – Leeds
Certain evening journeys withdrawn.
Service 128 Dewsbury – Thornhill – Overton – Wakefield
Minor timetable changes.
Service 135/136 Castleford – Pontefract – Chequerfield
Certain evening journeys withdrawn & minor timetable changes.
Service 147/157 Wakefield – Normanton – Pontefract
A revised timetable with minor changes. 157 Monday to Friday evening journeys will no longer by operated by Arriva.
Service 145/148/149/150 Wakefield – Pontefract – Knottingley
A revised timetable will be introduced with minor changes. Some early morning and early evening journeys have been withdrawn.
Service 153 Morley – East Ardsley – Rothwell – Castleford
A revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced. In Rothwell on journeys to Morley the service now operates via Commercial Street and Church Street following completion of redevelopment works.
Service 156/159 Castleford – Ferry Fryston – Castleford
A revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced. Monday to Friday journeys will no longer serve St. Joseph’s school.
Service 184/185 Wakefield – Normanton – Castleford – Pontefract
Together with service 189 a revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced. Some early morning and early evening journeys have been withdrawn.
Service 187/188 Wakefield – Castleford – Knottingley
A revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced. Some early morning and early evening journeys have been withdrawn.
Service 189 Wakefield – Normanton – Castleford – Leeds
Together with services 184 and 185 a revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced. Some early morning and early evening journeys have been withdrawn.
Service 194 Wakefield – Newstead – Royston – Barnsley
Together with services 195 & 196 a revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced.
Service 195/196 Wakefield – Crofton – Hemsworth
Together with service 194 a revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced. Journeys on 195 will no longer serve the Ashfield Estate in Hemsworth.
Service 202/203 Huddersfield – Mirfield – Dewsbury – Leeds
Minor timetable changes. Some early morning and early evening journeys have been retimed to operate up to 5 minutes early throughout the day to improve reliability and punctuality.
Service 253 Wakefield – Dewsbury – Mirfield – Bradford
Minor timetable changes.
Service 278 Wakefield – Dewsbury – Mirfield – Halifax
Minor timetable changes.
Service 408/409/420 Pontefract – Doncaster
A revised timetable will operate Monday to Saturday with some services withdrawn.
Service 410 Pontefract – Junction 32 – Methley – Leeds
A revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced.
Service 411 Carcroft – Norton – Askern – Doncaster
This is a new service. The 411 replaces some journeys that were previously provided by the 408 and 430 services.
Service 425/427 Wakefield – Morley – Bradford
A revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced. Sunday evening journeys starting at 1945 departing Wakefield and 2050 departing Bradford will no longer be served by Arriva.
Service 430 Pontefract – Barnsdale Bar – Carcroft – Doncaster
This service will be withdrawn. The new services 411 & 495 will serve some of the route.
Service 443 Hall Green – Wakefield
Together with service 444 a revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced. The service will no longer operate between Hall Green and Woolley. Evening journeys will now operate to a reduced timetable and will only be served by Arriva on Saturday evenings.
Service 444 Hall Green – Wakefield – Stanley – Leeds
A revised route will be introduced with the service returning to Lime Pit Lane and Lake Lock Road following the completion of the road works on Lime Pit Lane. Also together with service 443 a revised timetable, with minor changes will be introduced. Sunday evening journeys, starting at 1830 from Wakefield and 1930 from Leeds, will no longer be served by Arriva.
Service 445 Hall Green – Wakefield – Stanley – Leeds
This service, introduced for the closure of Lime Pit Lane, will be withdrawn and all journeys will operate again as service 444.
Service 481 Wakefield – East Ardsley – Middleton – Leeds
Some evening journeys will be withdrawn.
Service 485 Wakefield – Ackworth – Upton – South Elmsall
A revised timetable with minor changes will be introduced. Arriva will no longer operate the Monday to Saturday evening services and all Sunday journeys.
Service 495 Wakefield – South Elmsall – Upton – Pontefract
This is a new Sunday daytime service operating 2 hourly between Wakefield and Pontefract via Crofton, Fitzwilliam, Hemsworth, South Kirkby, South Elmsall, Upton, Rose Estate, Thorpe Audlin, Wentbridge, Darrington and Carleton.
Service 496 Wakefield – South Elmsall – Upton – Doncaster
A revised route and timetable will be introduced. Monday to Sunday evening journeys will be reduced and will now only operate between Wakefield and Wrangbrook.
Service WCB Wakefield FreeCityBus
This free service around Wakefield city centre will now be operated by Arriva. The route, timetable, and service frequency remains unchanged.
Service X41 Wakefield – Leeds
A revised timetable will be introduced with the service returning to Lime Pit Lane following the completion of the roadworks.
