Rhubarb on the buses
To celebrate this year’s Rhubarb Festival all Arriva buses in Wakefield will be displaying the festival’s logo in their windows.
The festival takes place between 24 February to 26 February and will feature a variety of local food, drink and rhubarb products for people to sample, buy and enjoy. There will also be cooking demonstrations, street entertainment and special guests including Ruby Rhubarb, Elaine Lemm and a host of local chefs.

Great event
Nigel Featham, managing director for Arriva Yorkshire, said: “We wanted to get into the spirit of things and thought that we would encourage people to get on board to the Rhubarb Festival. There’s so much going on, and it’s such a great event for the community, we hope even more visitors attend this year.”
Working together
Cllr David Dagger, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for Culture said: “This year’s festival is approaching fast and it is fantastic that Arriva are right behind it. It is great that businesses across the district are all working together to make this years festival bigger and better than ever. We want as many people as possible to come to the festival and see what it has to offer, with an extra day on the Sunday for families and famous chef and food writer Elaine Lemm making an appearance on the Saturday – it really is a fantastic day out no matter what the weather.”
The logos will be displayed in the run up to and during the Wakefield Rhubarb Festival.
