Arriva make taking the bus perfect

Bus company Arriva is pleased to announce two amateur photographers from Milton Keynes and Colchester have been crowned joint winners in a regional photography competition.
Happy snapping Russell Young from Highwoods, Colchester, and Mitch Hicks from Bletchley have both claimed top spot in the South East region for their scenic photos of Arriva buses, one battling the snow and the other set against the new information centre in Milton Keynes, the MKube.
The bus company, who launched the competition back in May 2011, received hundreds of entries in total, following an appeal to bus and photography enthusiasts in the area to capture an Arriva bus playing an important role in their local community.

Linsey Frostick, marketing manager for Arriva, said: “We received a large number of entries and the standard was really high, but we thought Russell and Mitch’s photos were the best and decided to crown them joint winners!
“I would like to thank everyone else who took part in our photography competition, as the entries we received clearly show a great deal of time and effort went into them.”
One of the winning photographers, Russell Young, said: “I am really pleased that I have been chosen as a regional winner for the Arriva South East photography competition. I tried to capture the vital role that buses play in the local community, which may be why my picture was chosen!”
