ARRIVA - Red Bull Home Run

Red Bull Home Run - Saturday 10th December 2011

Red Bull Home Run - Saturday 10th December 2011

Milton Keynes will be host to a huge event on Saturday 10th December to celebrate Red Bull Racing’s F1 Championship winning season. The event will take place on Saturday 10th December along Midsummer Boulevard between Saxon Gate and Grafton Gate. As a result there will be a number of road closures in Central Milton Keynes. The scale of this event means there is likely to be disruption to our services within the whole of the Milton Keynes area.

The main changes on the day will be the stopping arrangement in Elder Gate at the Central Rail Station and that all buses will be using Avebury Boulevard when travelling between the Central Rail Station and The Shopping Centres.

Services 4, 7 and 3 that would normally terminate at the Central Rail Station will terminate at CMK The Point on this day and will not continue to the station. Normal cross town services on Routes 4 and 7 will operate as normal.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend this event, and with normal Christmas shopping traffic in the City Centre, it is likely to be a very busy day. We do expect services across MK to be delayed or disrupted. We hope to be able to provide real time updates to this page on the day and we will also be operating a special Twitter Account (applicable to this event only) to keep customers up to date, You can follow us at @BusesOn10thDec.

We have been notified that there is the possibility of short notice closures around Central Milton Keynes which could impact on the Bus Network.  We will try to update this page and our twitter account as soon as we are aware of any changes.

If you are planning to attend the event, or are going Christmas Shopping, then on this day, the bus really will be the best option. Parking will be at a premium on this day so to avoid the stress of hunting for a space, let the bus take the strain. Fares start at just £1.40 single with a day ticket just £3.70 for unlimited travel on Arriva buses in Milton Keynes for the day. We also offer a MK Family saver, Costing just £7.50, upto 2 adults and 4 children (15 years old and under) can travel all day on Arriva Buses in Milton Keynes.

For visitors, the best option will be to use the Park and Ride service at Coachway at Junction 14 of the M1. Special return fares apply, £2 allows a return journey for one adult and one child to CMK and back, valid all day and you don’t have to pay for parking. Visit www.arrivabus.co.uk/parkandrideMK
