Changes to services in Northumberland (30 Oct 2011)
We have a number of changes to local bus services in Northumberland from Sunday 30th October 2011. The full summary of changes are as follows :-
Service 406 Shilbottle Grange – Swarland - Morpeth
This service will be withdrawn due to low passenger use.
Service 501/505 Berwick – Alnwick – Morpeth – Newcastle
The winter timetable for this service starts, plus all buses will now stop at Barras Bridge in Newcastle on their inbound journey.
Northumberland County Council have also cut a number of supported journeys due to low passenger numbers and these changes include the cancellation of the Saturday only diversion of the 07.25 ex Newcastle 505 service via Shilbottle Grange (the journey will still run, but won’t serve Shilbottle Grange). The 06.26 journey on 505 from Berwick to Alnwick (operated by Perrymans Buses) will no longer run and the 06.21 journey on 501 (operated by Travelsure) will also no longer run.
Service 518 Alnwick – Amble – Morpeth – Newcastle
All buses will stop at Barras Bridge in Newcastle on their inbound journeys.
Service X18 Ashington – Morpeth – Newcastle
All buses will stop at Barras Bridge in Newcastle on their inbound journeys.
Service 685 Newcastle – Hexham – Carlisle
We have withdrawn some journeys due to low passenger use and they are as follows :-
06.35 Newcastle to Haydon Bridge (06.40 on Saturdays)
07.28 Haydon Bridge to Gilsland (07.31 on Saturdays)
07.58 Gilsland to Hexham (most customers can use the previous 685 journey)
20.45 Newcastle to Hexham
21.31 Hexham to Gilsland
21.45 Newcastle to Hexham
22.31 Hexham to Haltwhistle
22.25 Gilsland to Hexham
23.05 Haltwhistle to Hexham
23.12 Hexham to Newcastle
