Roadwork disruption to 444 445 service
The first section commenced on Monday 3 October; this section closes Lime Pit Lane and will last for three months, severing access to customers in the Lake Lock Road / Stanley Lane Ends area. The only way to reach customers is by way of Ouchthorpe Lane and Rook’s Nest Road, but unfortunately will be unable to serve customers between Parkside Lane and Ferry Lane further up Aberford Road.
The 444 operates every 20 minutes in the peak so has been split to send two buses via Ouchthorpe and Rook’s Nest as 444 reflecting where the highest proportion of customers travel to and from and one bus will continue to serve Aberford Road as 445 to the far end of Lake Lock Road, and Mount Road on the normal line of route, this being the first available access point to Stanley village. Service 147/157 will still operate hourly along Aberford Road as far as Ferry Lane.
During the evenings and Sundays when the service becomes hourly, the only service posible will be the 444 in order to service the area with the highest proportion of customers.
The second phase, starting in about three months time and lasting for six weeks will make Stanley Lane Ends and Lake Lock Road totally inaccessible to buses and all journeys will operate as service 445.
We deeply regret the disruption to customers and services and acknowledge that whilst this essential work is being undertaken customers effected will have no choice but to amend their routines in order to catch buses.
Customers can of course put their case to Metro or the contractor: Joe Dottridge, BARHALE WSP, Livingstone House, Chadwick Street, Leeds, LS10 1LJ.
