Arriva Yorkshire scoops top award

Arriva Yorkshire has been awarded the prestigious accolade of ‘large bus operator of the year’ in a national award ceremony. The national Route One Operator Excellence Awards, held in Birmingham this week, recognise excellence in the UK coach, bus and minibus industry.

Dedication
Arriva Yorkshire was awarded the top title as the judges believe the company has shown real dedication and commitment in providing all-round excellence when it comes to delivering local bus services.

People of Yorkshire
Nigel Featham, managing director for Arriva Yorkshire, said: “This award win is a fantastic achievement and means a lot to all of our employees. It recognises all their hard work, commitment and continued efforts in ensuring that we provide the best possible service for our customers - the people of Yorkshire - and our local community.”

Mike Morgan - Editor
The awards presentation was hosted by the Editor of Route One magazine, Mike Morgan, and Garry Richardson, from BBC Radio 4 sport. “These are the premiere national awards for the coach and bus industry,” says Mike Morgan. “Arriva Yorkshire was up against the best of the best in the country so this is therefore a well-deserved and a significant achievement. Bus and coach travel plays a significant part in the life of the nation and the Route One Operator Excellence Awards identifies and promotes excellence, promoting best practice and demonstrating the high standards of quality of service that exist for the benefit of travelling public.”
