ARRIVA - A mad night for awards

A mad night for awards

The MAD Award ceremony honoured Arriva Yorkshire employees who have made a big difference to the business, their colleagues and passengers.

Overwhelmed

Nigel Featham, managing director for Arriva Yorkshire, said: “We always strive to provide the very best bus service for our passengers and it’s our employees and their efforts that make this possible. We were overwhelmed with the record number of entries that we had this year, and what makes these awards even more special is that all nominations are made by colleagues. We are really proud of everyone who was nominated, shortlisted and of course of those that won.”

Help for Heroes

The Rt. Worshipful the Mayor of the City of Wakefield Metropolitan District, Cllr. Ros Lund was also in attendance at the ceremony and she presented Kevin Mitchell, a representative for Help for Heroes, with a cheque for £3,100.  This was raised by a group of employees who earlier this month walked the 254 bus route – covering a total of 27 miles.

A raffle held on the night also raised over £1,000 for Help for Heroes.
