All aboard to the snow
Arriva Yorkshire and Selby Town Council have teamed up this summer to offer a Wednesday bus service to Xscape.
The introduction of the service follows the success of the Wednesday journeys during last year’s trial which was put in place following a campaign led by Selby Youth Council. The service will start on Wednesday 27 July and will run until Wednesday 25 August.
Colin Newbury, head of operations for Arriva Yorkshire, said: “We’re delighted to show our support for young people in our local community and we’re so pleased that people used the Wednesday service during last year’s trial allowing us to reintroduce it again this year. We hope lots more people use the service this summer too!”
A spokesperson for Selby Town Council said:” We are happy to be able to continue this popular service for the young people of the town, it was a disappointment when it looked like the service would not operate because of County Council cut backs.”
The service will run from Selby Bus Station, Brayton Green, Thorpe Willoughby, Hambleton, Monk Fryston and Junction 32/Xscape. There will be four journeys leaving from Selby Bus Station at 10.00hrs, 12.00hrs, 14.00hrs and 16.00hrs. With four return journeys from Junction 32/Xscape at 10.50hrs, 12.50hrs, 14.50hrs and 16.50hrs.
