Website improvements coming soon

We’re making some changes to the arrivabus.co.uk website on 4 April that will make it easier for you to find the information you need and to navigate around the site. We’re improving the way we deal with your online ticket purchases and launching an exciting new reward scheme partnership. A new-style interactive map will be trialled in Southend.

Secure
Highlighting Arriva's pioneering m-ticketing service, which enables people to buy money-saving bus tickets on their mobile phones whenever and wherever they want, we're introducing a new m-ticketing page, optimised for viewing on mobile phones, complete with a demonstration video of how this innovative technology makes it quick, simple and secure to buy tickets on your phone.

Timetables for the South East regionBetter for website visitors
David Shadbolt, marketing manager for Arriva UK Bus, said: “We are able to monitor journeys through the website and listen to user feedback, and all the changes being made in early April are designed to improve the user experience for visitors to the website, either through rationalising and simplifying what’s there already, or by introducing new features.”

Best value ticketsNew South East region
With greater emphasis being placed on providing content appropriate to the different regions of the UK served by Arriva buses it became clear that some of the regional names we use were potentially confusing. Although most names related to geographical areas of the UK, ‘Shires and Essex’ and ‘Southern Counties’ were less well understood, so a new ‘South East’ region will now replace them. The new ‘South East’ region will include Arriva bus services in the counties surrounding London, i.e. Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

Be rewarded with IceOnline ticket purchases
Customers will now be able to make their ticket purchases through a new online shop, with an easy-to-follow step-by-step process. You will be able to choose whether you want your ticket delivered instantaneously to your mobile phone as an m-ticket, or by post a few days later. And you will now be able to purchase Day, Weekly, 4-Weekly, Annual and even Student Saver m-tickets online.

Interactive mapNew reward scheme
We’re about to announce an exciting new partnership which will enable you to earn reward points when you buy tickets online, and this will be launched very soon. Watch out for more details.

Bus Trek landing page imageInteractive map
Holidaymakers and seaside visitors said they wanted us to make it easier for them to find their way around places with which they were less familiar by bus, so we’re trialling an exciting new interactive map in Southend. You will be able to hover over attractions on the map to find out more about them, including how to get there by bus. If successful we will look to introduce them in other popular tourist areas as well.

New game
And finally, for those of you who have enjoyed playing our online ‘Buster’ game, watch out for a new one coming soon!

More to come
"The good news doesn't end there" added David. "We're already working on the next round of enhancements which we look forward to announcing a little later in the year".
