Apprenticeship scheme
Arriva offer apprenticeships for engineers to maintain our fleet of buses. You can undertake an engineering apprenticeship in:
Mechanical
Electrical
Bus body parts
You can also combine the training to become a multi-skilled engineer.
Our apprenticeships last four years and involve a combination of residential training at college and on-the-job training at a local depot.
Residential college
In the first three years you will complete 12-14 weeks of residential college courses per year. Courses will normally be separated into small blocks of one to four weeks. The college course is Monday to Friday with travel and accommodation provided.
On-the-job training
When you're not at college you'll be learning on-the-job at a local bus depot where you will be mentored and supervised by a fully qualified engineer.
A recognised qualification
At the end of the course you will qualify with an NVQ Level 3 and Technical Certificate in Transport Engineering Maintenance. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to become a licensed member of IRTEC (The Institute of Road Transport Engineers).
We run schemes across the UK
Arriva offers apprenticeships at depots throughout the UK. Our apprentice programme starts in August / September each year but applications are welcomed from January. The selection process includes interviews and ability tests.
