The bus times and route of Arriva Midlands popular service 55 are being revised from Monday 4 August 2014 and will no longer serve Hollies Road in Wellington. Buses will run along Bridge Road and Spring Hill between Victoria Road and Admaston Road instead of Hollies Road.
Service 55 will continue to run between Telford Town Centre, Oakengates, Donnington, Hadley, Trench, Wellington, Dothill and Princess Royal Hospital – up to every 15 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday between Telford Town Centre and Wellington extending through to Princess Royal Hospital every 30 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday. Evening and Sunday buses run up to every 30 minutes between Telford Town Centre and Wellington.
We’re also introducing an additional morning journey on Monday to Friday between Trench Road and Telford Town Centre – departing Trench Road/Queensway (0720), Donnington, Aldi Store (0729), Oakengates, Bus Station (0748) and arriving in Telford Town Centre bus station at 0747.
Bus travel in and around Telford is so easy with our great range of multi-journey saver tickets – here’s one example where you can SAVE BIG TIME - our Local Weekly Saver Plus is now only £16* (was £18) providing 7 consecutive days travel in the Local saver plus area making bus travel a viable alternative to using the car. Go on, get on board!
Keith Myatt communications manager of Arriva Midlands said: “We monitor our services at regular intervals, recent monitoring has highlighted a decline in patronage from Hollies Road. Feedback from customers has indicated a need to provide links to Morrison’s Store in Wellington which we are pleased to introduce. The frequency of service 55 remains unchanged although there are intermediate timing changes as a result of the diversion to route. We’re pleased to introduce an additional early morning journey on Monday to Friday to this popular route between Trench Road and Telford Town Centre.
Along with our great value for money range of multi-journey saver tickets travelling bus can be a viable alternative to using the car.”
